Customer Review: Best cookie press ever!

I don't get it. Maybe I got a good one and a lot of people here didn't? Maybe I'm doing something different than the rest of you? I've been making tons of cake mix cookies and peanut butter cookies ever since getting this press a few years ago. It's so comfortable and easy to use, I won't go back to my other presses, which, while they appear to be more sturdy, are a whole lot harder on the hands than this one. Some tips in case you need them:
1) Press only on cool baking sheets. Cookies won't stick to the sheets if they are hot.
2) Soft dough is better than stiff dough. Mine is too soft to make a log. I spoon it in and use my spoon to press out any air pockets. Dough that is too stiff has a hard time sticking to the pan and it doesn't like to come out of the press.
3) Melt your butter entirely. Don't follow the suggestion to only soften or melt half. If you don't want the cookies to spread, refrigerate them when you have them in the pan.
4) Be prepared to put at least one cookie every sheet back into the bowl. It seems like when I put the press down between pans, I wind up with too much dough coming out on the next cookie.
I hope this helps some one. This is a really great press and it will treat you well as long as you are careful with it.
